Lumberton is a city in Hardin County, Texas, United States. The population was 11,943 at the 2010 census. Lumberton is home of the Village Creek State Park. It is part of the Lumberton–Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Canoeing, hiking, and bird watching are among the most popular activities in the park. Every April for the past 22 years the Village Creek Festival has been held in Lumberton. Arts, crafts, games, rides, and great food and music are always present at the three day festival. The Miss Village Creek Pageant is also held during the festival. Lumberton is a great place to live with excellent schools and a variety of children athletics with Little League Baseball and Softball, Pee Wee Football and Cheerleading, Little Dribblers Basketball (separate leagues for boys and girls), and even a youth soccer league. The City of Lumberton is in the process of developing a 90 acre park on FM 421 for the community to enjoy. The park will become the new home for the Village Creek Festival and will include other attractions such as walking trails, nature observation stations, and a wetlands area.

The Lumberton Chamber of Commerce serves as a source of information for businesses, newcomers and visitors of Lumberton, Texas. We answer a variety of questions on a daily basis ranging from “How do I start a business in Hardin County?” to “Where is the best place to access Village Creek?” The Chamber provides information on community development, economic development, tourism, and most importantly, our members. The Lumberton Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization comprised of businesses, civic organizations, and individuals. By providing maps, phone books and area brochures at our office free of charge, the Lumberton Chamber serves the community. New community members are encouraged to stop by the chamber office and pick up a welcome bag that contains information to help you get familiar with the community and its services. The Lumberton Chamber is dedicated to helping our business members succeed. We offer our members several networking opportunities throughout the year. We also award an annual grant to provide one member extra funding to promote its services and/or beautify the exterior of their business. The Lumberton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is composed of 21 directors. Each director brings their unique business expertise along with a willingness to serve the community to make a diverse and well-rounded group of men and women dedicated to serving the community. Only one of the directors, the executive director, is a paid employee who oversees the daily operations of the chamber. The chamber also employs an administrative assistant who assists the executive director with daily operations.
